Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Tanvrit Automator (the "Software") operated by Tanvrit Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", "Tanvrit"), you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy at https://automator.tanvrit.com/privacy. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. License — free tier

Tanvrit grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free license to install and use the free / local-only tier of the Software on machines you own or control, for personal or commercial use, subject to these terms. You may not redistribute the installer binaries; please link to https://automator.tanvrit.com/download instead.

3. Source-available roadmap

Tanvrit Automator is currently distributed as a binary. Phase 2 of our roadmap (target Q3 2026) is to publish the source under a source-available license such as Elastic License 2.0 or BSL — once the architecture stabilises and we are confident the public surface is supportable. This is a stated intention, not a contractual obligation; we will update these terms when source release happens.

4. Acceptable use — autonomous agent boundary

You will not (a) use the Software to harass, defame, or impersonate any person; (b) drive the agent against websites in violation of those websites' Terms of Service or robots.txt; (c) use the agent to scrape personal data without lawful basis under DPDPA or equivalent privacy law in your jurisdiction; (d) attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or paywalls of third-party services using the agent; (e) reverse-engineer or redistribute the binary. You are solely responsible for what the agent does on your behalf.

5. No warranty for autonomous agent actions

THE SOFTWARE DRIVES A REAL BROWSER AUTONOMOUSLY. Despite verification, retry caps (MAX_STEPS=50, MAX_RETRIES_PER_STEP=3, MAX_CONSECUTIVE_LLM_FAILURES=5), and stuck-detection (STUCK_THRESHOLD=3), the agent may click, type, navigate, or submit forms in ways you did not intend. THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. You should run the agent against a staging environment, not production, until you have established trust through bench runs.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Indian law, Tanvrit's aggregate liability arising from or related to your use of the Software is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For the free tier, that amount is zero. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or for any actions the autonomous agent takes on your behalf against third-party services.

7. Subscriptions (Plus / Team / Self-hosted)

Plus and Team paid tiers — when shipped — process payments via Stripe Inc. (international cards) or Razorpay (UPI and domestic cards). Recurring payments above ₹15,000 require Additional Factor of Authentication and a 24-hour pre-debit notification under the Reserve Bank of India E-Mandate Framework effective 21 April 2026; you authorise such notifications by enabling auto-renewal. Self-hosted is sold under a separate commercial agreement.

8. Third-party services

When you opt into cloud LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral) by setting their API keys, your use of those providers is governed by their respective terms — we are merely the client library. Playwright, Ollama, and Tesseract are open-source dependencies governed by their own licenses.

9. Intellectual property

All Tanvrit-created software, design, branding, and content remain the property of Tanvrit Pvt. Ltd. The trajectories, scripts, and content you create using the Software remain yours.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Tanvrit against claims arising from (a) your use of the agent against a third-party service in violation of that service's terms, (b) your violation of these terms, or (c) your violation of applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it and deleting ~/.automator/. We may suspend or terminate cloud-tier access for violation of these terms, with reasonable notice except where immediate action is required to protect users or comply with law.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Patna, Bihar have exclusive jurisdiction. Disputes will first be referred to mediation; failing settlement within 30 days, disputes will be referred to arbitration under the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, by a sole arbitrator at Patna, conducted in English.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the updated version takes effect 30 days after publication unless it merely clarifies existing obligations or is required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
